Folksinger, multi-instrumentalist (guitar, banjo, harmonica) and songwriter, WILLIE WATSON (formerly of Old Crow Medicine Show) is a leading pioneer in the renaissance of traditional and old-time music. His debut solo album, Folk Singer Volume 1, spans ten songs ranging from standards like Midnight Special, Mexican Cowboy and Jame's Alley Blues to more obscure songs like St. Louis bluesman Charley Jordan's sing-song Keep It Clean.  Like the music, Willie can be murderous, bawdy or lustful, sometimes in the course of a single song, with a sly sense of humor that cuts to the quick.
Willie grew up listening to Bob Dylan and Neil Young before stumbling upon an old Leadbelly album. Combining that with his love of string bands featuring old-time banjo and fiddle, his style was set. Watson's skillful and subtle banjo and guitar accompaniments along with his soaring vocals is a pure revelation.
Opener: JESSICA FICHOT is a lot like her hometown of Paris; French at heart, yet with a soul that is truly international. Her music is a thrilling journey from French chanson to Chinese 1940's swing to international folk. She returns to the Annex as a trio and armed with her accordion and toy piano.
