The women of ZHENA FOLK CHORUS sing in the fascinating languages of Eastern Europe; lullabies, rain chants, songs of secret spells and of dreams in new lands. These ancient songs express the joy of wedding and union, the ache of sorrow and moments of exultation.

Classical violinist MIAMON MILLER, became entranced with folk music at a young age. He was awarded a Fulbright scholarship, studying Transylvanian folk music in Romania, then joined the Aman Folk Ensemble in the 1970s and eventually became its Artistic Director. Miller has composed and arranged music for film and television productions from Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman to Keeping Up With the Steins. He has also composed for the popular Polish puppet theater, Białystocki Teatr Lalek.

Opener: TEAM TAIKO is Grand Vision's music program for adults, presented in partnership with LAUSD Harbor Service Center ESL Program and LA Taiko Institute/Asano Taiko. Team Taiko is made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts.
