2017 Gathering For The Grand - a Huge Success!

"Some Enchanted Evening"

Saturday, March 18th was an unforgettable and hugely successful evening at Crafted At The Port of Los Angeles, honoring long-time Harbor area arts patrons, Scott Donnelly and Dr. Wade Nishimoto.

This year’s annual gala benefit, entitled Some Enchanted Evening (from the film South Pacific) featured Tiki décor, cocktails, appetizers, dinner, an auction and fantastic entertainment by Alex Smith’s Anything Grand Band, The Kelsey McCowan dancers and vocal ensemble, The Jordan Sisters.  Proceeds enable Grand Vision to continue to preserve and promote the historic Warner Grand Theatre and to instill in local children, a love and knowledge of music through our in-school Meet the Music program that has so far, served over 10,000 students in the 4th and 5th grades.

Guests came dressed in formal florals, fragrant Hawaiian leis, dapper Naval uniforms, tuxedos and colorful accessories (suggested by our Pinterest Board). Artisans created a gorgeous hand-made canvas of paper flowers which provided a beautiful backdrop to capture guests photographs, as well as 8 giant, mysterious hand painted Tikis creating a spiritual Polynesian environment in the dining room. Spectacular table centerpieces included palm leaves, orchids, ginger, and a wide variety of brightly colored Heliconia.

If you missed our Gala this year, please join us for our annual Gathering in 2018. The film theme and date will be announced soon!
