The "Grand Chairs" & Their Artists

Mari Waits is a self-taught aqua media artist favoring the use of acrylic paint on canvas and paper, presenting a splashy colorful style of fluidity. Works range from figures set in bizarre contemporary settings, to surreal classic cars representing symbolic modern contemplations and idioms. Mari has exhibited extensively in group and solo shows and exhibits in Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and California. A recipient of numerous grants and awards, Mari has been active in working with various community groups such as: L.A. Unified School District, Sierra Arts Foundation, Las Vegas Art Museum, KVBC/Sunbelt Communications, KUPN Broadcasting, L.A. Wood Classic Car Exhibit, Ruby's Diner/Redondo Beach, California National Association of Latin Americans, City of Las Vegas Parks and Recreation Clark County School District/ Clark County Library District, Nevada Arts Commission/ City of Las Vegas Arts Commission, The Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada and of San Pedro, California, Palos Verdes Peninsula 2003 Concourse de Elegance
