The "Grand Chairs" & Their Artists

Cliff Wagner came to be a woodworker and prop builder in a round about way. He took a job as the Production Designer at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City as a way to support his first love, music. In Greenwood Mississippi , where Cliff grew up, he participated in Greenwood Little Theater, literally the only show in town, building the props and playing in the orchestra. In New York he studied woodworking under Maurice Fraser , a frequent contributor to Fine Woodworking Magazine, at the Crafts Student's League. He later advanced to build props for The Letterman Show, Tommy Hilfiger's New York Show room, MSNBC, and The Blue Room , which opened on Broadway starring Nicole Kidman, and much more. In California , Cliff has built museum installations for The Peterson Auto Museum and The Austin, Texas Natural History museum, Disney props, and Elton John's stage for Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, as well as many more diverse props for stage shows and television commercials. Currently he's customizing a double decker bus for a Red Bull promotion. Cliff resides in San Pedro, California where he designs and builds custom woodwork as well as a banjo player and song writer currently in the studio recording an original CD of Bluegrass music.
