The "Grand Chairs" & Their Artists

Attended Otis Parsons School of Art and worked as a flight attendant for years until retiring in 1995 to help my husband, Ray Carofano, in his photography studio. We bought and refurbished the old Crocker Bank bldg. in San Pedro in 1997 to accommodate a gallery, two commercial shooting areas, a darkroom for Ray's fine artwork and a loft living area above. After dabbling in painting with oils and acrylics thru the years, I changed directions and have been photographing ever since I met Ray 14 years ago. I started out shooting black & white with a nikon f3 and learning printing techniques from Ray. I then got interested in shooting with a Polaroid sx-70 land camera and the manipulation of the images, which are in several personal collections. Presently I am involved in a project of non-manipulated color abstracts with the same camera and have had shows in San Francisco, Los Angles and the south bay area. We have been involved with the 1st Thursdays in San Pedro since its inception, exhibiting a high caliber of local and national artist's work in various mediums. Ray and I also host fund raisers in the studio / gallery for the gallery at LAHC curated by Ron Linden, events for Random Lengths and many other functions & events for the local community.

I am happy to be a part of the Warner Grand Chair Affair for the Grand Vision Foundation in San Pedro in support of the restoration of their magnificent theatre. My chair donation is entitled "My Fair Lady." After rescuing it's parts at the Salton Sea from the rubble of despair I saw the vision and dignity of a delicate chair!
