The "Grand Chairs" & Their Artists

I was born in Pasadena, California. At the age of four, my family moved to Milan, Italy for three years, then moved back to Maryland, my parents were shocked and learned that I was profound deaf at birth, I was considered a very bright and outgoing child, and my family moved to Texas. Four years later, my family decided to come back to California. I was raised in Palos Verdes and San Pedro, and grew up in a multicultural environment. I went to private schools until I graduated from Miraleste High School, and went to UCSB. The beauty of the area attracted me more than the reputation of the art school. It was in Santa Barbara that I rediscovered my artistic inclinations. As a child, I was always drawing or making something. I remember water colored very detailed of Catalina Island and the hills, which inspired by my art teacher in private school.

My art and my life are not divided into components. I combine them together as one unique whole personal aesthetic enjoyment. My life changes continually, whether I am ready or not, and my art changes along with my life. Every day, I seek a new consciousness and wholeness from a feminine perspective.

My works speak of dreams, life and mystery. As an artist I am putting my thoughts and dreams out into my works. Beyond the gloss is memory, a part of history. Our history is not always objective truth: memory shapes how we perceive it, and so the history is our truth. I have been showing my artwork professionally for nearly 10 years at deaf art shows and local exhibits.
