WHAT MAKES A THERE, HERE?: Understanding the Current Mural Ordinances and How to Initiate a Project
Followed by a Screening of "Exit Through the Gift Shop"

This is the first in a series of gatherings designed to explore place-making activities and celebrate San Pedro's diverse arts community. The panel discussion will review the latest LA mural ordinances and will feature Isabel Rojas-Williams, LA Mural Conservancy Executive Director, along with Segerstrom Teaching Artist Markus Tracy and Steve Shriver, a local artist with mural making experience. The panel discussion will be followed by a showing of "Exit Through the Gift Shop: A Banksy Film". 
 
The 2010 film by street artist Banksy tells the story of Thierry Guetta, a French immigrant in Los Angeles, and his obsession with street art. The film premiered at Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
 
Admission is free, but seating is limited and guests must have a ticket.
